Let it go.
My daughter lost her front tooth today. By lost, I mean, there was a lot of crying leading up to her dad pulling it out. Even though it was time, she didn’t want to let it go.
I think we can all relate. We see the signs telling us it’s time to shed the grudge, the relationship, the fear, and yet we kick and scream trying to hold onto what we know isn’t good for us.
Because we know what life is like with those things. The unknown is much more uncomfortable.
The process of letting go isn’t easy. My daughter cried as her dad pulled the tooth. When we get older, the effects are more internalized. We can feel lost, sad, and scared when we get rid of the things we’ve kept around for too long.
But once we make the move, when we let the things go that have been holding us back, a new life begins to emerge.
Don’t hold onto an old tooth. If you’re hearing whispers say it is time to make the move, do it, move on. The motion will probably hurt at first, but eventually, something new will take its place.
The life we are supposed to be living will begin to reveal itself when we get rid of the excess that’s been weighing us down.
Let it go.
