I recently spent a week and a half at my parent’s house in Florida. Miss Vi and I had an amazing time. We shopped, we went to the beach and most importantly we got to spend time with Jo Mama and Arnie Pop (they picked out those grandparent names believe it or not!) Andy got to fly down for the weekend where we attended a black tie wedding on the beach, fabulous!
While we were there Jo Mama taught me some new recipes. I absolutely loved this one. These are crunchy, honey and brown sugar glazed pork chops. She found a recipe this adapted recipe on Facebook, but there’s no link saying where the recipe came from. She served these pork chops with fried potatoes and garlic broccoli. I think it would also be great with veggie fried rice. This is a great family dinner that I hope you enjoy!
Sweet Crunchy Pork Chops:
Serves 4
Prep: 20
Total: 45
Ingredients:
4 pork chops
1 egg
2 Tablespoons water
1 cup flour
1 Teaspoon Garlic Salt
Canola or vegetable oil for frying
Glaze:
1 cup Honey
¼ cup Brown Sugar
¼ cup Soy Sauce
2-3 Cloves Garlic, Chopped
2 Tablespoons butter
Directions:
Pre Heat oven to 350 degrees. Whisk the egg and 2 Tablespoons of water together in a bowl. Mix the flour and salt together in a separate bowl. Dip the chops in the flour, then over into the egg. Then back over into the flour mixture, again, making sure they’re completely coated. When chops are coated, place them in a skillet with a good dose of hot oil. Cook chops for about 6 minutes on each side over medium heat. Remove from the pan and place in a baking dish.
In a small pot, cook the garlic in the 2 Tablespoons of butter.
Add the honey, brown sugar and soy sauce. Bring all ingredients to a boil then reduce to low and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Pour 1/2 of the glaze over the pork chops. Flip them over and pour the other 1/2 over the other side. Bake pork chops for about 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees.
