My husband recently read me a quote about trusting God. He loved it. I did not.
My mind immediately went to all the times I trusted and all the times He didn’t come to the rescue.
But what about that scary surgery?
What about the miscarriage?
What about that major disappointment where I thought I was following Him only to be left with ‘no’. Again.
But the more I thought about it, the more I thought about what it means to trust Him.
And I think it means no matter where we choose to go, or no matter where life chooses to take us, we trust He will be there to provide endless amounts of grace.
I think to trust means that when we find ourselves in the pit, in the darkest of dark spaces, we know we won’t be there forever. That somehow, one day we will find ourselves on higher ground with our faces pointed towards the sun.
And we will know we did not get there on our own. We couldn’t.
It’s only by His grace that we move forward.
It’s only by His grace that we move forward- changed.
So, I do trust in God. Only, I don’t trust that he will rescue me from my circumstances. I trust that no matter what dark spaces I end up occupying that He will be there with me. And eventually when He is ready, and I am willing, His grace will help me walk towards the light.
From bitterness to thankfulness.
From defeat to peace.
From pain to purpose.
From grudge to forgiveness.
From broken to transformed.
I trust God. I trust in His grace.
